Federal Judge Neuters Arizona Immigration Law: What’s Next? (The Atlantic Wire)
The Atlantic Wire - The most controversial elements of Arizona’s immigration law have been blocked
by a federal judge. Major provisions, such as one requiring authorities
to check the immigration status of individuals while enforcing other
laws, will not go into effect. U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton also barred the state from requiring immigrants to carry their
papers at all times. While this isn’t the last say on the Arizona law,
it’s a major victory for the bill’s opponents. Here’s what observers are
looking at now and anticipating for the future:

‘Project Runway’ Shakes Things up for Season 8
Filed under: TV News
In addition to the usual stresses and strains, bitchiness, in-fighting, and flashes of sheer design brilliance that we’ve come to expect from the show, ‘Project Runway’ fans can expect a few changes when it returns for its eighth season tonight. In an interview with tvguide.com, host and creator Heidi Klum dropped some hints as to what we can expect.
First up, the show’s now starting at 9PM ET instead of 10PM ET (check your DVRs, people), and is 90-minutes long instead of 60. Klum said she always thought the original start time was too late, so now we can all watch a longer show and still catch up on our beauty sleep a whole half hour earlier than before.
Plus, having an extra 30 minutes in the show means we’ll get to see much more of the judges’ deliberation: “Elimination day is all day, but on the show it was down to about 10 minutes. … Now we have the freedom to show it much longer than we ever could,” says Klum.
After seven seasons the competing designers are, by now, knowledgeable fans of the show who know what’s coming and know (or think they know) how to play the game. So, this season will throw them some curve balls, such as the first-ever hat challenge, and Klum says this time around “we are going a little harder on the designers and with the challenges. We just try to pump it up a little more and give the designers twists. … We need to surprise them too, and not just viewers at home.”

Cinematical Late Night: Justin Bieber, Zach Galifianakis, Meatballs Remake

- Justin Bieber as Christopher Robin? Zach Galifianakis as Eeyore? That’s how Paste sees things in a gallery of Disney characters and the stars who were born to play them in live-action versions. I would definitely see a version of Lady and the Tramp where Lady Gaga plays duel roles as both Siamese cats. Disney if you please…
- Speaking of Galifianakis, here’s a real movie he’s set to produce and appear in: Reply All, a comedy which will be scripted by Phil Johnston (the upcoming Cedar Rapids). You can guess the plot by the title, I’m sure, but just in case you’re one of the few people who’s never done this, it involves a personal email reply that accidentally goes out to a whole bunch of people rather than one person.
- Galifianakis’ Dinner for Schmucks adversary, Steve Carell, has his own new comedy to produce and star in. It’s called Raised by Wolfs, and I will try to guess the plot of this one, too: a guy tries to adapt to normal society after being reared by a crazy family with the last name Wolf.

Grace Digital’s Tuner Wireless Radio & Media Player adds internet radio to existing stereos
So, we’ve two main issues here. One, who in their right mind would pay $219.99 for a device that still requires a dedicated stereo in order to play back the internet radio streams that Grace Digital’s Tuner Wireless Radio & Media Player delivers? And secondly, who would want to put up with Grace Digital’s thoroughly lackluster UI? If you can’t grok the grumbling, the aforementioned company now has a slender new component it’d love to stick on your shelf, with the device shown above able to stream WiFi radio content from 30,000 stations, Pandora, iheartradio, Sirius, Live365, MP3tunes and a smattering of other sources. It can be wired up via Ethernet or used over 802.11g, with composite, Toslink and coaxial digital audio outputs around back. There’s a 4-line backlit LCD for displaying not nearly enough metadata at once, and there’s even a remote thrown in for those looking to build out their collection. It’s available now if you’re feeling the itch, though we’d suggest you get that checked out before blindly indulging.
