WD’s 320GB My Passport AV external HDD wants to have and hold your media

Western Digital has played this card before with the strategically named My DVR Expander, but for those who don’t realize that an external hard drive is an external hard drive, there’s the My Passport AV. For all intents and purposes, this 320GB HDD is nothing more than a standard drive with a fancy marketing scheme following it closely. Oh, sure — it may work “seamlessly” with Sony’s Direct Copy feature on the outfit’s range of Handycam camcorders, but outside of that, we don’t see anything in particular that makes us long to pay more for something that doesn’t really do more than any other 320GB HDD on shelves today. If you’re in complete opposition (it’s cool… really), it’s available to order today for $109.99.

Razer promises Mac support for all upcoming products

Razer already provides full Mac support for a few of its gaming peripherals — including the Naga and DeathAdder — and basic support for others, but it’s now taken avantage of GDC to “reaffirm” its commitment to Mac users. That apparently means that “all upcoming” Razer products — including the company’s line of StarCraft II peripherals — will boast full Mac support out of the box, and that the company will be rolling out updates to some of its existing products “later this year,” including the Orochi, Mamba, and Imperator gaming mice. First Steam, now Razer peripherals — dare we say it’s a good time to be a Mac gamer?

Bravo Announces Most Depressing Line-Up in TV History

It’s always exciting when a cable network announces that they’re adding an a new night of programming. Or it can be exhausting, considering how much TV we all watch nowadays. With that in mind I think I’m glad that there’s probably nothing at all that I’ll want to watch on the fifth night of programming that Bravo is going to have later this year.

I mean, seriously, look at the shows that the network will have to choose from for this fifth night of programming. ‘Million Dollar Listing 4?’ ‘Tabatha’s Salon Takeover 3?’ ‘The Fashion Show 2?’ ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta 3?’ And those are just the returning shows.

New shows include ‘Pregnant in Heels’ (a reality show about a boutique that caters to pregnant women), ‘Miami Social Club,’ a look at rich, fashionable people who enjoy the “hot Miami scene,” and ‘Million Dollar Decorators,’ a reality show about the personal lives of interior designers who work on expensive homes.

Jesse Ventura Also Involved In Secret Wachkowski Project

Last year, Slashfilm reported that blogger extraordinaire Ariana Huffington was claiming she was shooting scenes for a secret sci-fi film directed by the Wachowskis. (We’re not calling them brothers here!) Huffington said it was a movie about the Iraq War but filmed from the perspective of the future. She had photos of herself with Andy and Lana, backed by green screen, and it was all very odd. At the time, our Erik Davis speculated it could be Tom Tykwer’s adaptation of Cloud Atlas, which the Wachowskis are producing. But Slashfilm is now reporting that Jesse Ventura has also filmed a role in the secret movie, and what he says just adds to the mystery.

Ventura appeared on the Howard Stern show yesterday, and when asked if he’d ever return to the big screen, he revealed he had filmed some sci-fi weirdness with the Wachowskis. He doesn’t know what the film is, he was shown no script, and he was merely told to improv.

“They brought me [in], and they brought Arianna Huffington in after me. Arianna was there, and they had her looking like Cleopatra … Do you remember what John Travolta looked like in that horrible film Battlefield Earth? They put multicolored dreadlocks on me all the way to here. They gave me this crazy beard that was hanging down pointed, looked like Travolta, right? And they put a third eye in the middle of my forehead. Because what this is, is this is a hundred years in the future, and they wanted me to talk about the current war in Iraq and how I felt about it. And so I got to vent, looking like this maniac in this whole outfit.”
