(AP Photo/Nati Harnik)Clashing over the economy, President Barack Obama challenged Mitt Romney to join him in allowing tax hikes for rich Americans like them, needling his Republican rival to "compromise to help the middle class." Romney dismissed the idea and returned fire on a tender topic, calling Obama the real "outsourcer-in-chief."

Canon unveils the SELPHY CP900 compact photo printer, allows you to scrapbook from the backseat

If you literally can’t wait until you get back home to print your Grand Canyon photos, you’re now in luck. Canon has announced the SELPHY CP900 compact printer that makes on-the-go postcard making a bit easier. Making use of the peripheral’s added WiFi capabilities, you’ll be able to output those images from you hiking expedition from a memory card or with the help of the Easy PhotoPrint app for Android and iOS devices. Of course, you’ll be limited to 4 x 6-inch snapshots, but the new accessory will take up less room in your backpack compared to the previous models. Can’t find a power outlet? No worries. You can splurge for the optional battery / charger combo for printing mid-safari — should you so choose. The device also sports a 2.7-inch LCD screen for final adjustments and a wait time of under a minute per copy. Details on a release date are scarce, but the mobile kit will be available in both black and white options for around $100 when it does arrive. For now, a few alternate angles await in the gallery below.

Sofia Vergara’s Many Midriff-Baring Tops

Two years ago, I spent the majority of a scorching summer weekend glued to my couch watching the first season of ‘Modern Family,’ straight through from start to finish. While I was captivated by the humor and corny family lessons entangled in each episode, Sofia Vergara’s portrayal of the boisterous-but-lovable Gloria had me in absolute fits. The comedically-adept actress kickstarted her career co-hosting two Univisión shows in the ’90s, and her on-screen appearances range from an “Entourage” cameo to a Smurfs role, in addition to her place in the multi-season sitcom.

While her attention-grabbing personality is enough to please an audience, the stunning brunette’s wardrobe certainly doesn’t lack appeal. While she used to wear busty midriff-baring tops and flared jeans, these days she expresses her feminine physique primarily in strapless gowns and curve-hugging mini dresses. But rest assured, her wardrobe is anything but boring — each looks involves combinations of bright colors, printed pumps and chunky jewelry.

To celebrate Sofia Vergara’s 40th birthday on Tuesday (and we’re sure she’s doing it big, Gloria-style) we’re taking a look back at her style transformation. Which of Vergara’s many incredible gowns is your favorite?

Mutual fund performanceThanks to rock-bottom interest rates, it’s harder than ever for cautious savers to get the income they need from their savings. Many have fled from safe vehicles like CDs to dividend-paying stocks in an effort to squeeze a decent return from their money, even though stocks carry the very real risk of losing principal.

For those who aren’t willing to bet on stocks, the other options aren’t very appealing. And one popular choice that investors have used for decades now faces a huge threat…

Henri Proglio, CEO of Electricite de France (Getty Images)How much more does your average American CEO make than you? In 2011, the average CEO of a company large enough to be listed in the Standard & Poor’s Index was paid 380 times what his employees earned. That number is astounding for two reasons:

  • First, it’s really big.
  • Second, according to the folks at the AFL-CIO’s Executive Paywatch site, it’s about nine times bigger than the gap that yawned between CEO compensation and average worker pay just 30 years ago.

Quelle horreur!

Here…

bell of the New York Stock Exchange After the closing bell rings, whether it’s the physical bell of the New York Stock Exchange or the virtual bell of the Nasdaq, you may believe that trading activity has ceased for the day and the shares of the companies you trade in are sitting quietly until the markets open again the following day. That’s not necessarily true.

Behind the scenes, your companies may be seeing trading action in so-called “dark pools,” secondary stock markets that operate out of sight of the average investor and…
