SAG Awards 2010: Meryl Streep Belts Her Dress… Again

Meryl Streep literally demonstrated her black belt in red carpet dressing at tonight’s 2010 SAG Awards.
Staying true to her accessory du jour, Streep cinched the waist of her full-length silk Balenciaga gown with a wide, triple-buckled belt which added a bit of toughness to the lush draping, plunging neckline and splashy blue-and-green pattern of her dress.
The legendary actress has been buckling up a lot lately. Most recently, she wore a belted Chris March — as in the “Project Runway” alum — dress at the Golden Globe Awards last Sunday.
Back in November, at the Gotham Independent Film Awards, she wrapped up in a wide black belt. And at last month’s New York premiere of her current hit film, “It’s Complicated,” she again strapped on a thick, gold-buckled belt.
Could she have been influenced by all the belted dresses she wore in “Julie & Julia?”
